Northern Cape Matric Results 2016 – 2020
For the fast few years, the Northern Cape province has struggled to improve their matric results as they have remained in the 70s. The last the Northern Cape saw a matric pass rate over 80% was in 2009.

2016
This is the highest performance the Northern Cape has seen in this 4 year period. The Northern Cape province achieved a pass rate of 78.7%.
2017
This year, the Northern Cape matric results saw a 3.1% decline with a pass rate of 75.6%. Leaving them at fourth place.
2018
In 2018, the Northern Cape experienced another decline, moving from 75.6% to 73.3%.
2019
In 2019, The Northern cape achieved an increase of 3.2%, giving them a pass rate of 76.5%.
2020
Jan Badenhorst, an educational professional has made the following predictions about the Northern Cape matric results for 2020. “With so many lost school days, we should see a drop in the numbers.
But Umalusi has the power to adjust the numbers if they feel it is fair. So I expect the Northern Cape numbers to drop to below 75%.
