Adult matric, also known as the Amended National Senior Certificate(ANSC), is a way for people over 21 years, who have completed grade 9 to get a matric certificate.

What exactly is Distance Learning
Any course that you can complete from your own home, which involves no classroom education qualifies as a distance learning course. Not every post-matric course is a distance learning course, but those that are, are practical, skills-driven, and aimed to help people improve their lives.
Application requirements
To qualify to write adult matric exams you have to meet the following requirements:
- You must be over the age of 21
- Must have passed grade 9 or a grade 9 equivalent qualification
Can I apply if I’m 19 years old?
Yes, you can! If you are 19 years old you can apply to do your adult matric. However, you can only write your adult matric exams when you are 21.
Here’s how the process works if you apply as a 19 year old:
- Register for adult matric now
- Start studying your first subjects
- Turn 20 years old by the end of April 2021
- Use all of next year to study
- Register for your first exams – Exam registration is done in November / December 2021
- Start preparing for your first exams!
- Turn 21 years old by the end of April 2022

How Matric College works
Step 1: Registration
We will help you choose the right subjects during the registration process.
Step 2: Delivery
We deliver your first package, containing your first study material, once you have successfully completed your registration and made your first payment. You will receive your first package within 5 – 7 days after your first payment was made, via courier. Your second batch of study material will be couriered to you after your second monthly payment ect. You do not have to buy any additional textbooks as we provide the correct textbooks.
Step 3: Preparation
We provide our students with support through our online tutors. Your tutor is available online, on WhatsApp, on email and on the phone. We will help you prepare for your exams by helping you work through study materials.
Step 4: Exam
You have to register for your own exam. We assist you with the information needed for you to register for your own exam.
Alternative Options
No Matric Courses
In the event that you do not want to get an Amended Certificate, there is a programme that offers students an alternative option to redoing their Matric.
This programme consists of a group of courses that offer a qualification on the same level as a Matric Certificate but do not require a Matric for you to be able to qualify for registration and is offered by a number of institutions. These are often referred to as No Matric Courses.
ICB Courses
These are a series of bookkeeping and accounting courses designed to teach students all the skills and knowledge they would need in this field. Without needing to have a matric.
